Holy Ghost power for flight (2)
Taiwo Akinola
The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed ~ Psalms 28:8.
Introduction:
The place of the anointing of the Holy Spirit in accessing power for flight cannot be over-emphasised. In His out-workings, the anointing of the Holy Ghost strengthens, prefers, protects, defends, guides, enthrones, destroys yokes and bursts barriers.
Furthermore, the anointing provokes and empowers great endings in any circumstance we may find ourselves anytime. Today, as you read this piece, may you be supernaturally repositioned to drink from the brook of the Holy Ghost, in Jesus Name. Amen.
Genuine supernatural flight, bringing strange advancement, is solely powered by the Holy Spirit, with heavenly emissaries standing behind the supernatural mills. Thus, supernatural flight is an absolute possibility for any believer in Christ Jesus, particularly those who refuse to be separated from their core assignments and values.
Phillip was not a very big title holder, yet God used him mightily. He was the one God used to harvest the Ethiopian eunuch, perhaps the first gospel seed to Africa. Of a truth,“limitations live only in our minds. But if we use our imaginations, our possibilities become limitless” (Jamie Paolinetti).
It is a plain abuse of supernatural privileges to not recognise or to refuse to deploy any form of peculiar Holy Ghost touch we receive as a tool for advancing the course of the gospel. God anointed Jesus Christ with the Holy Ghost, and He in turn went about demonstrating and blessing people with the gospel power (Acts 10:38).
Supernatural flight and strange advancements are aimed at confirming the faith of believers in Jesus Christ, and advancing the course of the gospel round the world.
The Holy Spirit took Philip away from the Ethiopian eunuch, mysteriously; but this only tended to confirm and invigorate faith in the Ethiopian man. Same was the case with Elijah. I believe the Spirit gave him a supernatural flight to outrun King Arab, so that the king might respect, fear and honour God and His prophetic anointing.
How to Attract the Anointing for Supernatural Flight
First and foremost, we need to ask ourselves, “Do I truly want to fly”? If the answer is an emphatic yes, then we must readily give it all it takes to receive the sweet anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Outstanding people in the various callings in life are those who are rugged, and who would pay the extra price to make things happen. If you want something to work, that is what it takes. And, thereafter, your horizon will expand, your glory will burst forth, and you shall go forth to become distinguished with supernatural accomplishments.
Believers who truly desire to attract the anointing of the Holy Spirit for supernatural flight and advancement must basically choose to live godly, be serviceable to God and humanity, and elect to wholly respect God’s covenant (Hebrews 1:9; Psalms 89:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:19).
We are commanded to give God honours due to Him, and to respect His covenant (Psalms 74:20; Malachi 1:6). See, in varying degrees, human beings generally place high premium on respect, and have aversions to shame, dishonour and disvalue. Respect is a positive feeling of esteem for a person or thing, a special deference, with specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem.
Naturally, when you feel respected, you consider that your true worth and values are being appreciated, and you become emotionally primed to act in favour of those who respected you. And, understandably so, when you honour God, and show respect to His covenant, you supernaturally attract what His anointing brings.
On the contrary, when you rebel against God and vex Him, you can only attract His wrath and fury (Isaiah 63:10). And, when you grieve the Holy Spirit, you lose your seal of eternal redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
Meanwhile, it pays to emphasise that implicit obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit is also a major requirement for the believers who wish to enjoy Holy Ghost empowerment for flight and supernatural advancement. Clear obedience to His words and commands will hasten the performance of His will and purposes in our lives (1 Sam. 30: 8).
Sometimes, God opens doors of opportunity to His people in very unusual ways and in very unlikely places, but it is our implicit obedience that eventually validates the opportunities. For example, Philip was directed to leave a structured city for a sandy desert. He obeyed because he knew it won’t take less for supernatural flight, and the Spirit caught him up in a glorious flight (Acts 8: 26-40).
There is great destiny for the obedient. It is not what you know that matters most, but what you do with what you know. What are you doing with Spirit inspired instructions you have so far received? Yes, the Voice of the Lord is full of majesty, but it is obedience to the Voice that vitalises our experience of His majesty (James 1:23). And, it is wisdom for God’s people to redeem time for holy duties, filling up every minute with things that will turn to good accounts in God’s Reckoner.
Friends, God is still looking for people worthy of His gracious anointing! Will He find you as He found David, a humble, servant-hearted, worshipper? Or, will He reject you as He rejected David’s elder brothers?
We must readily demonstrate persistent faithfulness to the Lord if we want Him to trust us with the sweet anointing of His Spirit (Hebrews 12:2). And, we must persist in our course. When we run well, we cannot fail; when we are on God’s team, we are on the winning team!
In conclusion, please note that it will take God’s empowerment for any mortal man to truly fly, and to enjoy supernatural accomplishments. Therefore, we must keep in mind that God cannot be an option, He is always the Priority Matter.
It is only when God empowers us by the unfailing strength of His Spirit that we fly. Naturally, we cannot; but He can, therefore, we can, supernaturally (Philippians 4:13). Anybody can talk and anybody can boast, but only God determines who becomes the talk-of-the-town! And, until you know the difference between the ‘lift’, the ‘lifting’ and the ‘Lifter’, you remain enmeshed as a struggler at ground zero (Psalm 3:2-3).
Things can never be too bad when the Holy Spirit is in the picture. No situation that cannot be handled, and nothing is beyond redemption when the Holy Ghost is involved (Jeremiah 32:17; Genesis 18:14). However, we must genuinely cooperate with Him to experience His power for flight.
When you internalise these basic facts above and run to God, the whole world will soon run after you. When you refuse to be enslaved by your past, no matter what, you will begin to enjoy banquets of new things. This is your season, the Holy Spirit will surely help you, and you will soon start to experience sudden and widespread increase of supernatural accomplishments, in Jesus Name. Amen.
