From a handful of members to a global Christian movement, Rhema Christian Church & Towers celebrates 35 years of grace, growth and divine preservation at Rhema World Convention 2026 on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Rhema Christian Church & Towers has celebrated its 35th anniversary with an outpouring of praise, thanksgiving and jubilation as members, ministers and worshippers gathered on the second day of the ongoing Rhema World Convention 2026 to commemorate three and a half decades of God’s faithfulness.
The anniversary celebration, which was one of the major highlights of the convention, brought together the congregation of Champions in an atmosphere of overwhelming joy and heartfelt gratitude, reflecting on the ministry’s remarkable journey from its humble beginnings to its emergence as a growing global Christian movement.
Addressing the congregation at the anniversary celebration, the Presiding Bishop of Rhema Christian Church & Towers, His Grace, Archbishop Dr. Taiwo Akinola, recounted the ministry’s journey, sharing inspiring accounts of significant moments, challenges and experiences that demonstrated what he described as God’s power, mercy and miraculous intervention.
Archbishop Akinola recalled that Rhema Christian Church started with just a handful of members but had, through divine grace, unwavering faith and commitment to its God-given mandate, grown into an international ministry with congregations and branches across different parts of the world.
Expressing profound gratitude for the journey so far, the cleric said the 35th anniversary represented much more than institutional expansion, describing the milestone as a powerful testimony to God’s faithfulness, preservation and the fulfilment of His divine purpose. He acknowledged the countless testimonies and experiences of God’s intervention that had sustained the ministry over the years.
He urged members, ministers and friends of the church to remain steadfast in their walk with God, expressing confidence that the same God who had sustained Rhema for 35 years would continue to take the ministry into greater dimensions of spiritual impact, growth and global influence. The Archbishop’s message was one of renewed commitment, faith and expectation for greater exploits.
Meanwhile, attention is already building towards one of the convention’s biggest attractions, the much-anticipated Hosanna Night of Praise, scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, at 9 p.m. The special praise event is expected to bring together worshippers for an extraordinary night of music, passionate worship and thanksgiving.
Archbishop Akinola assured participants that this year’s Hosanna Night would be an unforgettable encounter, characterised by high praise, spirited worship and joyful celebration of God’s goodness. He disclosed that several renowned gospel artistes, including popular gospel music minister Tosin Bee, would minister at the event, leading the congregation in songs of praise and thanksgiving.
According to the Archbishop, the programme would provide Champions and other worshippers with an opportunity to express their gratitude to God through singing, dancing and heartfelt adoration. Expectations are therefore high for an evening of vibrant praise and spiritual celebration as the church continues its anniversary festivities.
The 2026 Rhema World Convention, which also marks the ministry’s 35th anniversary, is being held under the theme “MORE THAN CONQUERORS,” drawn from Romans 8:37: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (KJV). The theme underscores the convention’s message of victory, faith and confidence in God’s enduring promises.
The week-long convention features a rich programme of worship, prayer, biblical teachings, ministerial enrichment, miracles and spiritual encounters, with ministers, worshippers and delegates expected from different locations. It is designed to strengthen faith, deepen spiritual understanding and inspire participants towards greater commitment to their Christian calling.
As Rhema Christian Church & Towers celebrates 35 years of ministry, its anniversary message remains firmly rooted in gratitude for the past, confidence in God’s promises for the present and renewed expectation for the future. From a humble gathering of a few believers to a ministry with an international presence, the church’s journey stands as a testimony of perseverance, faith and divine preservation.
Indeed, the 35th anniversary is not simply a celebration of years gone by, but a declaration of renewed purpose and greater expectations. For Rhema and its congregation of Champions, the journey continues, with the conviction that the God who has brought the ministry this far will lead it into even greater exploits in the years ahead.
